Nam Gyu-ri has found the secret to her second prime — and it is pork. The singer-actress revealed that her self-composed “Samgyeopsal Song” became the engine behind her busiest season in years, landing her an exclusive digital-content modeling deal with Handon, Korea’s homegrown pork belly brand.
According to Sports Kyunghyang reporter Ha Kyung-heon, Nam shared the story in a new vlog on her YouTube channel “Gyulmeong,” titled “Busy Busy! CEO Nam Gyu-ri’s Recent Update with Pig.” She opened the video by performing the song she wrote out of her genuine love for samgyeopsal, then took viewers behind the scenes of the Handon shoot.
“I made a song with a loving heart about a food I’ve loved for a long time, and now that song is together with Handon, Korea’s samgyeopsal brand — what is this if not another miracle?” she said, expressing her amazement and gratitude.
The vlog follows her across a packed schedule: touring events in Daegu and Gwangju — where she squeezed in a tteokgalbi mukbang — a successful debut as special DJ on MBC Radio FM4U’s “Hope Song at Noon,” and festival stages. After one big event, she admitted in the car: “I never thought I’d stand at such a big event in my life. I’ll do better next time.”
The former SeeYa member is also pushing ahead as a vocalist, releasing Part 1 and Part 2 of her new single “Our Love Is Like That” on YouTube, and recently performed in Suwon and Incheon as part of SeeYa’s debut 20th anniversary national tour concert, “THE FAN.”
With a new single out and the anniversary tour underway, Nam’s pig-powered second prime shows no signs of slowing down.
