Master director Park Chan Hong is facing renewed scrutiny as his past remarks about treating actresses like daughters resurface amid allegations that he discriminated against his daughter-in-law Song Ji Eun.
According to a Sports Kyunghyang report on October 18, the spotlight has returned to a 2022 episode of YouTuber Park We’s channel ‘Wirakle’ featuring actress Choi Kang Hee, as the director faces controversy over his so-called ‘adopted daughter’ relationship with actress Yoon So Hee.
In the 2022 video, Choi revealed that the director she once described as terrifying on CBS TV’s ‘Sae Robge Hasoseo’ was in fact Park Chan Hong. She recalled that when her father passed away, the director appeared at her home unannounced and told her, ‘From now on, I’m your dad. Call me dad’ — words she said moved her beyond description. The mood turned playful when Choi admitted she later met actress Park Jin Hee, who also called him ‘dad,’ making her realize he was ‘everyone’s dad.’ The video’s edited cut also included Park Jin Hee describing her close, father-daughter-like bond with the director.
The resurfaced clip comes as Park We, the director’s son, has been at the center of the so-called ‘KTX controversy.’ Netizens have also debated claims that director Park favored Yoon So Hee as an ‘adopted daughter’ while allegedly treating Song Ji Eun unfairly.
