S.E.S.'s Shoo Transforms into Cosmetics CEO, Ships Products to Bangladesh After Gambling Scandal cover

Former S.E.S. member Shoo has reinvented herself as a cosmetics CEO. The K-pop idol, whose entertainment career stalled after a 2019 gambling scandal, shared news of her thriving beauty business with fans on October 20 through a series of photos on her social media.

According to Sports Seoul, Shoo posted photos showing her personally inspecting boxes of products stacked high at a shipping site. In her caption, she wrote: “To our little ones setting off on a long journey — may they arrive safely without damage, bringing comfortable rest and a healthy glow to skin wherever they go.”

“We started with overseas exports and are now receiving so much love at home too,” she wrote. “Today is the day our products head to faraway Bangladesh.”

Shoo was convicted on habitual gambling charges in 2019 and sentenced to six months in prison, suspended for two years. She halted all broadcasting activities following the controversy and spent years in self-reflection.

She debuted in 1997 as a member of S.E.S., receiving widespread love during her idol years. In 2010, she married former basketball player Im Hyo-sung, and they have one son and two daughters.

No official statement was available beyond her social media post. Her pivot into beauty marks one of the more visible post-scandal comebacks by a veteran idol.
