Shinhwa member Jun Jin’s wife, Ryu Yi-seo, has revealed that her first IVF pregnancy ended in miscarriage, sharing the couple’s emotional journey in a YouTube video posted on October 16.
According to MHN Sports and MyDaily, the video — “Jun Jin and Ryu Yi-seo: After Our Embryo Transfer” — was uploaded to her channel “My Love Ryu Yi-seo.” It traces the couple’s journey from the first confirmed pregnancy test to the ultrasound revealing a gestational sac, and finally to their heartbreak after the miscarriage news.
Ryu Yi-seo said she saw a faint two lines on a home test eight days after the transfer, with a blood test on day 11 confirming the pregnancy. At 5 weeks and 1 day, an ultrasound revealed a gestational sac, and a day-26 scan still showed normal development. Six days later, doctors said the fetus’s growth had slowed significantly — and the couple learned of the miscarriage days later.
“It unfortunately ended in a miscarriage this time,” she said calmly, adding that she had never fully ruled out that possibility, “so maybe it hurt a little less.” Thinking of Jun Jin, she broke down in tears: “My husband suffered alone so much beside me. I’m so thankful to him.”
In the video description, she thanked “our baby, who came to us even for a short time and gave us such happiness,” and said she plans to try IVF again from egg retrieval after recovering — hoping her story comforts others going through the same.
