BIGHIT MUSIC announced on October 22 that it will take strong legal action against the spread of malicious rumors about TXT leader Soobin, saying that attempts to defame the artist ahead of the group’s comeback have reached a serious level.
The statement, reported by JTBC via Naver, comes as unverified rumors about Soobin have been spreading rapidly across social media and online communities, shaking the group’s global fandom.
The agency said it had confirmed that false information and malicious rumors about its artist were being indiscriminately circulated on overseas social media and online communities, and had been handling the situation internally. It explained that it had deliberately avoided public statements until now to prevent baseless rumors from being amplified through official channels.
“Posting and distributing malicious posts is a clear criminal act that seriously damages the artist’s character and reputation. We are currently collecting evidence on related posts across domestic and overseas platforms, and we will take strong legal action without any leniency or settlement,” the agency stated.
The agency added that Soobin’s personality rights are being seriously violated and that it is responding strictly across SNS and online communities regardless of channel. It asked fans to report and flag illegal posts so the rumors stop spreading online.
BIGHIT MUSIC said it will continue to respond firmly under a zero-tolerance principle to all illegal acts infringing on its artists’ rights, prioritizing the artist’s protection and the prevention of repeat harm.
