Watch: ILLIT Goes Undercover as Black Agents in "You're Under Arrest" Music Video Featuring Song Kang cover

ILLIT has released the music video for “You’re Under Arrest,” the title track of the group’s fifth mini album “BREAK EVEN.” The video arrived on October 26 at 6 p.m. KST through HYBE Labels’ official YouTube channel, closing the rollout for a comeback that the group had been teasing for weeks.

According to OSEN, the video turns ILLIT into a team of black agents. The members chase down a person who shook their hearts and then disappeared, pressing on with persistence and wit even though they have almost no information about their target. The concept gives the group’s bright, playful image a sharper edge, while keeping the humor that has defined much of ILLIT’s work so far.

The styling carries much of that transformation. For their undercover work, the members wear charismatic special-agent outfits, detective-inspired looks reinterpreted in ILLIT’s own style, and outfits tailored to each member’s character. The changing looks follow the story beat by beat, so the video’s visual variety becomes part of the chase rather than a separate showcase.

The performance is built around the same idea. ILLIT blows whistles while pursuing a fleeing figure and shapes its hands into guns to signal an arrest, turning the song’s central metaphor into pointed, repeatable choreography. Set against a strong beat, the group’s tight, synchronized formations give the track its energy and make the chorus gestures easy to follow at a glance.

“You’re Under Arrest,” known in Korean as “체포하겠어,” is an electro-pop track about mistaking someone’s habitual kindness for affection. The song delivers a bold warning to the person who caused that confusion, and its lyrics play with the idea of “crime signs” as evidence of a one-sided relationship. OSEN notes that those lyrical clues connect with ILLIT’s earlier work, rewarding listeners who follow the story across releases, while a bright whistle sound and an addictive hook anchor the chorus.

At a media showcase for “BREAK EVEN” held the same day at Blue Square’s Woori WON Banking Hall in Seoul, the members performed the title track and spoke about the comeback. Yunah thanked Song Kang for his surprise appearance in the video, saying she met him on set and that he told the group he had been enjoying their recent work. “His words meant a lot to us, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank him,” she said, according to showcase coverage.

Wonhee expressed confidence in the new album, calling it a favorite and saying the group prepared it with certainty about the material. She added that ILLIT practiced hard because the members believe in the album, and that she hopes listeners can feel that confidence and energy on stage. The showcase remarks set the tone for a promotion cycle the group hopes will reach listeners who have not yet heard the new songs.

The release caps a rollout that began well before October 26. ILLIT first performed “You’re Under Arrest” at the encore concerts of its “PRESS START” tour in Incheon on October 17 and 18, giving concert audiences an early look at the title track. A second official teaser followed on October 25, one day before the full album arrived alongside major releases from other groups on the same date.

“BREAK EVEN” itself is built around the idea of stopping a losing exchange. As reported around the showcase, the album’s title comes from the break-even point, and its songs follow an emotional arc from realizing feelings are one-sided to refusing to keep pouring time and heart into a relationship that gives little back. That framing makes “You’re Under Arrest” the moment of decision in the story: a direct warning that ends the frustration rather than prolonging it.

The comeback also arrives after ILLIT addressed questions about the title track’s early stage outfits. Yunah said at the showcase that she was happy and surprised by how much interest the first performances drew, and grateful for the attention. She added that, as the music video shows, the group planned to present a variety of looks based on a covert-agent concept, placing the new video in direct conversation with that earlier discussion.

ILLIT will take “You’re Under Arrest” to broadcast stages next, with its first music-show performance scheduled for October 30 on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank.” Wonhee is also set to appear as a daily weather caster on JTBC’s “Morning&,” while Yunah and Wonhee are scheduled for tvN’s “Amazing Saturday,” with further variety appearances including Mnet’s “Hide and Seek 2” planned during the promotion period.
