WINNER’s Song Min-ho, better known as Mino, will receive notification to resume his military service, the Military Manpower Administration (MMA) said Friday, after a court ruling against him was finalized earlier this month.
The Korea Herald reported that the MMA will review the exact duration of his remaining service and determine where he will be assigned. The decision follows the finalization of the ruling over his service violations.
Song served as a social service agent at a facility in Mapo-gu, Seoul, from March 2023 to December 2024. Prosecutors accused him of repeatedly failing to report for duty, and investigators found he had been absent without authorization for 102 of the 430 days he was supposed to serve. On October 1, a court sentenced him to one year in prison, suspended for two years. The sentence became final after Song chose not to appeal the ruling.
Following the sentencing, Song posted a handwritten apology on Instagram on October 9. “I sincerely apologize for letting down the young men serving in the military and my fans who have cherished me more than anyone else,” he wrote.
With the verdict now final, the singer is expected to receive his re-enlistment notice in the coming days. The MMA has not yet announced the length of his remaining service or his new assignment.
