XG are back with new music. The group’s new single album ‘DEPENDS’ has arrived, with the title track ‘DEPENDS’ and fellow new song ‘S.A.D’ now streaming on XG’s official YouTube Topic channel as the calendar turned to November 6 in Korea.
The two tracks surfaced on r/kpop in the early hours of November 6, Korean time, just after midnight, as fans counted down to the release. The drop ends a wait that began when XG announced the single on their official social media accounts on September 14, 2026, confirming November 6 as the release date.
‘DEPENDS’ is XG’s first new release in nearly a year. It follows the group’s debut studio album ‘THE CORE – æ ¸,’ which arrived in January 2026, landed in the Top 100 of the US Billboard 200, and topped Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart.
The comeback also closes a chapter that began with a blackout. On September 13, XGALX’s website and every XG social account went dark without explanation, setting off a wave of fan speculation. When the label returned a day later, it came back with a full rebrand and the tagline ‘Genuine Art Lives. Lives Create Culture,’ followed by the announcement of the new single.
The release lands in the middle of the group’s second world tour, ‘XG WORLD TOUR: THE CORE.’ The tour has not been without disruption: in early October, XG cancelled the Dallas show scheduled for November 17 and the Mexico City show scheduled for November 22, citing ‘unforeseen circumstances,’ with full refunds promised to ticket holders.
No official statement was available beyond the release itself, and no further details about the tracks were included in the material accompanying the uploads.
With ‘DEPENDS’ now out, attention turns to how the new single performs and whether more material follows in the group’s rebranded era. The rest of the world tour schedule continues as planned.
