A2O LITE Asked Jay Black to Make 'NEON' Intro Choreography Harder, He Reveals cover

The choreographer behind A2O LITE’s viral ‘NEON’ intro says the rookie girl group gave him feedback he had never received from an idol act before: make the dance harder.

J Black appeared on the October 16 episode of the YouTube channel Studio Wagle Wagle, which posted a stage dance review of ‘NEON’ under the title ‘EP.09 | A2O LITE _ NEON.’ According to Xports News, the dancer walked through the behind-the-scenes story of creating the debut single’s intro choreography.

The intro’s pair dance, performed by members Aijing and Siri, spread rapidly through short videos after the song’s release, drawing attention for its high difficulty. J Black said that when he sends draft videos for typical idol commissions, the standard reply is to ask for something easier.

‘This time it was the opposite,’ he said. ‘I sent the draft and the feedback was: please make it harder. I was thrilled — so I made it harder.’

A2O LITE is a nine-member girl group from Lee Soo Man who debuted on October 12, his first new act in roughly three years. Their debut single ‘NEON’ climbed to No. 1 on Melon TOP100 within 29 hours of release.

The group is currently promoting ‘NEON’ on music shows.
