Woo Seo-yoon, the winner of the 70th Miss Korea pageant, has addressed plastic surgery speculation in her first SNS message, nearly two months after her crowning.

According to a report by Sports Chosun on October 16, Woo posted her reflections on her SNS, writing that the pageant would remain “an experience more precious than anything, beyond just another competition.” She added that the cherished memories and meaningful connections she made were “the greatest gift” to her.

“I sincerely thank you for all the interest and warm support you’ve sent,” she wrote, promising to become someone “who can repay the love with positive influence.”

“So that I can become someone worthy of the title of Miss Korea Jin, I will keep learning and working hard every moment, growing day by day,” she added.

The speculation began after her coronation in August at the COEX Auditorium in Gangnam, Seoul, when her old broadcast appearances began circulating online. The daughter of former professional basketball player Woo Ji-won, she appeared on tvN’s ‘Roundy Escape 3’ as a teenager in 2018, and some netizens compared her past and present looks, raising questions about cosmetic procedures and even linking the issue to the pageant’s fairness.

In an earlier interview, she had alluded to the controversy: “Among the words that come with all this attention, some hurt, but I try not to be hurt,” adding that she hoped for a chance “to show my true self.” No official statement was available from the Miss Korea organizers.
