Lee Soo-man’s new girl group A2O LITE needed less than a day and a half to conquer Korea’s biggest streaming chart. Rookie group’s debut single “NEON” hit No. 1 on the Melon TOP100 roughly 29 hours after release, the fastest any debut song has reached the top since the chart was revamped in August 2021.
According to TV Report, “NEON” sat at No. 1 on the hourly TOP100 as of 11 p.m. on October 14. The track dropped at 6 p.m. on October 13, then climbed one spot from No. 2 to dethrone Soyeon’s â€śí‡´ě‚¬í• ę˛Śě—¬â€ť.
The rise was steep. “NEON” entered the TOP100 at No. 77 on release night, jumped to No. 10 by 9 a.m. the next morning, then took the crown at 11 p.m.
Speaking at the group’s debut showcase on October 12, producer Lee Soo-man said he hopes listeners “feel that it is good” before looking for what is different.
The previous record belonged to ALLDAY PROJECT, whose “FAMOUS” took three days to reach No. 1 in June 2025. NewJeans’ “Attention” needed eight days in 2022, while ILLIT’s “Magnetic” took nearly two weeks in 2024. Melon’s TOP100 combines the last 24 hours and the last hour of usage each hour, so the record reflects sustained listening, not a one-hour spike.
A2O LITE will make their first music-show appearance on the October 15 broadcast of Mnet’s M Countdown, where attention now turns to how far the debut momentum can go.
