Actor Bae Nara and musical actor Han Jae-ah are getting married on November 14, about 10 months after they went public with their relationship in January.
Bae Nara’s agency, YY Entertainment, confirmed the news to The Fact on November 3, telling the outlet that the couple will hold a private wedding ceremony at a church in Oksu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul. The announcement follows the pair’s public confirmation of their relationship in January, turning a romance that began years earlier on stage into a marriage.
Bae and Han first met in 2019, when they both appeared in the musical “Grease.” They went on to share the stage in several more productions, and their working relationship gradually developed into a romance. The couple announced the wedding themselves, each posting a handwritten letter on social media to share the news directly with fans.
In his letter, Bae wrote that he had met someone precious he wants to walk with for the rest of his life. “When we are happy, we will share bright smiles first, and in tiring moments, we will be each other’s quiet support as we draw the rest of our lives together,” he said, adding that he plans to keep living diligently as an actor and as the head of a family.
Han struck a similar note, saying she had met someone who will be a reliable partner in both good days and hard ones. “We promised to live a life of caring for and relying on each other as we spend our time together,” she wrote, adding that her attitude toward her work and the people she meets through it will not change.
Bae made his debut in the 2013 military musical “Promise” and broke out in 2023 playing Jang Seong-min, a gay deserter, in the second season of Netflix’s “D.P.” He has since built a steady screen career across a string of dramas, and more recently drew attention for sharing his everyday life on MBC’s variety show “I Live Alone.”
Han debuted on stage in 2017 with “Hamlet: Alive” and has since performed in productions including “Maybe Happy Ending” and “Kinky Boots,” building her career as a musical actor before her relationship with Bae became public.
With the ceremony set for November 14, the couple are now days away from becoming husband and wife, while both have said they intend to keep working steadily on stage and screen.
