Football legend Cha Bum-kun showed his soft side as a grandfather, treating granddaughter Cha Bom to a full basket of goodies at a discount store.
The moment was captured in a video posted October 12 on actress Han Chae-ah’s YouTube channel, titled ‘My healing trip to my in-laws’ house #3.’ The video follows the family’s Chuseok visit to her in-laws’ home in Goheung, Jeollanam-do. Cha Bom, her daughter, even took the camera herself, introducing herself with a cheerful “I am Cha Bom, my mom’s daughter.”
According to the report, Cha Bum-kun — Han Chae-ah’s father-in-law — took the girl to a discount store with her mother, where he told them, “Grab a basket each and put in whatever you want. Grandpa will pay, so you have to be quick while grandpa is buying.”
Han Chae-ah joked that grandpa was quite different from mom: “With mom, it’s strictly one item only.” Cha Bom chose her items carefully, and the final bill came to 71,600 won, all paid by Cha Bum-kun.
The video also gave a glimpse of the family estate, where a new house was built next to the original wooden one that Cha Bom is said to love. No official statement was available. Han Chae-ah married Cha Se-jji, Cha Bum-kun’s son, and the two run the popular family YouTube channel together.
