Lee Min-jung Sets 13-Year-Old Son Jun-hoo's Weekly Allowance at 40,000 Won After Testing His Daily Spending cover

Actress Lee Min-jung has decided on 40,000 won — roughly $30 — a week for her 13-year-old son’s allowance, after testing his real-life spending route herself.

In a new YouTube video published on October 13, titled “The Day Lee Min-jung Sets Her Elementary-School Son’s Allowance,” the actress explained that her son Jun-hoo will turn 13 in Korean age in a few months and has reached the age of getting around on his own. She had already made him an allowance card but needed to decide on a fixed monthly amount, as reported by Spotv News.

Asked over the phone how much pocket money he hoped for, Jun-hoo answered “100,000 won a month” and hurriedly added “just a little more.” To reality-check that number, Lee Min-jung retraced his usual stops — a convenience store, a snack bar, a taco shop and a stationery store — and spent 64,800 won along the way.

Doing the math, she figured one stop a day works out to about 11,000 won daily, and pegged a weekly budget of 40,000 won including school supplies. “You said 100,000 won a month earlier, so this should be fine,” she laughed. “If you get upset, go earn a lot of money.”

Lee Min-jung and her husband, actor Lee Byung-hun, married in 2013 and have two children — a daughter and Jun-hoo. No further official statement was available beyond the video.

The lighthearted clip gives fans a rare peek into the famously private couple’s family life.
