god's Son Ho-young Drops First Solo Single in 5 Years, 'Go Around,' Marking 20 Years as a Soloist cover

god vocalist Son Ho-young is back with new music as he marks 20 years as a soloist.

“Go Around,” released on October 14, is his first single in five years, following 2021’s “흘러가는 시간 속에서.” In a recent interview with Kukmin Ilbo, the 46-year-old was candid about his early solo years. “I think I was a bit arrogant at first,” he admitted, saying he chased “pleasant songs” instead of finding his own musical identity. “As a solo singer, I’m still twenty,” he added. “I think I have to keep going from here. It’s just the beginning.”

“Go Around” carries his signature message of comfort — that it is sometimes okay to go around an obstacle instead of colliding with it. “The phrase I say the most is ‘it’s okay,’” he said. “I wanted to say that things will be fine with time, and that everything is not necessarily bad.”

The song will debut live at his “Horizon” concert on October 31 and November 1 at KBS Arena in Gangseo-gu, Seoul. “I want to hear fans say, ‘I’m glad I waited so long, it’s great,’” he said.

Son also confirmed god will skip a year-end concert this year due to scheduling conflicts, but promised a new god song for the group’s 30th anniversary in three years. Calling his fellow members “brothers and family,” he credited fans for his longevity: “My current position isn’t something I made. I’ve endured thanks to my fans.”
