Gummy’s recent radio appearance has fans talking — but not just about her voice. The singer looked noticeably thinner and tired in photos taken after her October 13 broadcast, sparking a wave of concern — and counter-arguments — across Korean online communities.
According to OSEN, Gummy appeared on the “Special Live” corner of SBS Radio Power FM’s “Cultwo Show” on October 13, where she performed “미안해요” live and sang “기억상실” a cappella, drawing an enthusiastic reaction from listeners for her unchanged, powerful vocals.
After the broadcast, photos of Gummy with DJ Kim Tae-gyun and singer Lee Jung were released, and fans quickly noticed her sharper jawline and slimmer frame. One widely shared community post read: “She seems to be having a hard time these days. Raising a second child must be tough. I kept staring at the photo wondering if it’s really Gummy.”
Others pushed back, arguing the photos simply came out badly or that her lighter makeup made her look different — and pointed to the behind-the-scenes video of her concert poster shoot on her own channel last month, where she looked like her usual self.
Gummy married actor Jo Jung-suk in 2018, and the couple welcomed their first daughter in August 2020 and their second in January this year. Her husband said on his YouTube channel in May that her maternal love is “beyond what you all think,” adding: “You wonder if a mother like this even exists.”
She is set to return to the stage this November, starting in Seongnam, with concerts in eight cities over about two months — roughly ten months after giving birth to her second child.
