Actress Han Go-eun has revealed she underwent surgery to remove a 5-centimeter lump from her breast after it nearly doubled in size in nine months, sharing the story in a video posted to her YouTube channel on October 15.
According to OSEN, the actress spoke on her channel ‘고은언니 한고은’ in a video titled, roughly translated, “The reason Han Go-eun finally had surgery after the lump grew to 5cm in 9 months.”
Han said she first learned of a 3.2-centimeter cyst in her breast during a health checkup in January. A biopsy came back with nothing abnormal, and doctors decided to monitor it since it was over 3 centimeters. By August, it had grown to 5 centimeters, and surgery became necessary right away. She said she fit the operation into a break in her drama filming schedule.
Her husband, Shin Young-soo, described his panic in the waiting room. The doctor had told him the surgery would take about 15 minutes, but after 30 minutes she was still in the operating room. “I thought there was a problem, so I called everyone,” he said. Han laughed as she added, “He called my mother crying and made a huge scene.” Shin said his relief finally came when the status board switched to “recovering.”
The video closes the chapter on a scare that began with a routine checkup in January, with the couple now sharing their relief with fans.
