i-dle's Soyeon Tops Melon and Genie October Monthly Charts with 'I'm Quitting' for First Solo Monthly No. 1 cover

i-dle leader Soyeon has scored her first monthly chart No. 1 as a solo artist, with “I’m Quitting (Narr. Kian84)” topping the October 2026 monthly charts on both Melon and Genie.

MHN Sports reported on November 3 that the title track of her first full-length solo album took No. 1 on the two platforms’ October monthly charts, extending a chart run that began with a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) on real-time and daily charts.

The monthly crown is a first for Soyeon as a soloist, MHN noted, and her first self-composed song to reach the top since (G)I-DLE’s “Queencard” about three years ago. Kian84’s narration features on the track, which has stayed near the top of the charts about two months after its release, showing unusual longevity for a solo single.

The song’s reach has gone beyond Korea. MHN reported that its digital album sales passed 1 million yuan on QQ Music, China’s largest music platform, earning a Platinum certification. Its challenge has also spread widely on social media, generating more than 34,000 short-form videos on Instagram and more than 42,000 on TikTok.

The October monthly No. 1 caps a run that already set a new solo career high for Soyeon. The track took No. 1 on MBC’s Show! Music Core on October 10, following wins on Mnet’s M Countdown on October 1 and SBS’s Inkigayo on October 4, completing a music show triple crown. That surpassed her previous solo record of two music show wins, set in 2021 with “BEAM BEAM.”

The result also underlines Soyeon’s standing as a solo artist in her own right, beyond her role as i-dle’s leader. MHN framed the monthly chart top as proof of her producing ability as a soloist, with a self-written song holding the top spot two months after release rather than fading after its first week.

No official statement was available.

Next, Soyeon returns as a member of the virtual girl group K/DA alongside Miyeon. The pair will take the stage at the opening ceremony of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship final on November 14 local time at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
