Youngja from season 15 of ENA and SBS Plus dating show “I’m SOLO” has announced her pregnancy, revealing she is eight months pregnant and expecting her first son.
Sports Chosun reported that Youngja shared the news on November 5 through her social media accounts, alongside maternity photos taken with her husband. “I’m SOLO season 15 Youngja, now becoming a son’s mom,” she wrote, describing the post as a somewhat late pregnancy reveal as she approaches her ninth month.
In the photos, the couple pose before a mirror in matching patterned white shirts and sunglasses. Youngja wears a black tube top and skirt that reveal her baby bump, while her husband stands behind her with his arms around her belly. She also drew a heart-shaped pair of sunglasses and a smiling, tongue-out face on her belly for the playful shoot.
Youngja said she had delayed sharing the news because of her work. She runs English education work in Daechi-dong and Myeongil-dong, and said that, as an academy instructor and director, she worried students might feel anxious about their classes if they learned of the pregnancy too early.
She also spoke candidly about a difficult early pregnancy. Youngja said she gained considerable weight during the five months she spent preparing for pregnancy, and that in the early weeks she would sometimes vomit alone in the staff room during breaks before returning to teach.
The baby is now expected on December 18, earlier than the original due date of January 1, 2027, Sports Chosun reported. Youngja also revealed the nickname Pearl Luck, taken from the “Pearl” in her academy name, Black Pearl, combined with “luck.” “Pearl Luck, let’s meet soon,” she wrote.
Youngja first became known through “I’m SOLO” season 15, which aired in 2023, when she introduced herself as a Daechi-dong English tutor with a decade of experience. Although she did not leave the show as part of a final couple, she later met her husband after he contacted her through social media, having watched her on the program. The pair dated for about seven months before marrying in March 2024, and appeared together on the spin-off “I’m SOLO, Love Continues” in March last year.
With the December date now public, Youngja’s next update is likely to be the birth itself, as she prepares to step away from teaching for the arrival of her son.
