An ‘I’m Solo’ Season 34 cast member is facing online allegations that their parents borrowed money more than 20 years ago and never repaid it, according to a report by South Korean outlet MyDaily.
MyDaily reported on October 16 that a community post titled “I saw my elementary school classmate whose parents scammed my parents’ money…(I’m Solo)” was circulating. The author, identified only as A, said friends’ group-chat messages identified the story as relating to the current season’s cast.
In the post, A claimed the cast member’s parents borrowed money from A’s parents and have never repaid it, adding that childhood memories of the matter remain vivid. A also claimed that when A’s parents went to collect, they were met not with promises of repayment but with severe insults and verbal abuse — and that the family eventually gave up, finding no legal or realistic recourse. The cast member was not named in the report.
“I have no wish to harm the program or its broadcast by raising this,” A wrote, adding that after more than 20 years they had no expectation of recovering the money: “If they know about this, I ask for a sincere apology. One word of apology is enough.” MyDaily noted the claims remain unverified, and online commenters are divided over whether the post is true.
No official statement from the production team was available. ‘I’m Solo’ airs on ENA and SBS Plus; the October 14 episode revealed the men’s occupations for the season’s “multi-child special.”
