Netflix variety show “Doraiver” will come to an end with its sixth season, production company Studio++ announced on October 25, closing the book on comedian Jo Se-ho’s last remaining fixed program.
The final episode, episode 16 of the currently airing sixth season, will air on November 21. Studio++ shared the news on social media, saying the show’s “long journey” would conclude with that episode.
“It is a program we have been with for five years, and because it has built up a special narrative and relationships, the cast and crew finished the final filming with deep regret,” the company said. Studio++ thanked fans for their steady support, adding that the team would do its best through the final episode on November 21.
“Doraiver” is the Netflix successor to “Hong Kim Dong Jeon,” which aired on KBS 2TV from 2022 to 2024. The show stars Kim Sook, Hong Jin-kyung, Jo Se-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and Jang Woo-young, who have carried its lighthearted, talk-driven format through six seasons.
The finale carries extra weight because “Doraiver” is Jo’s last fixed show. He announced a hiatus from broadcasting late last year after allegations surfaced linking him to organized crime figures, stepping down from tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” and KBS 2TV’s “2 Days & 1 Night.” The controversy left “Doraiver” as his only remaining regular program.
Jo has stayed largely out of the television spotlight since then, though he returned to public attention earlier in October when his wife, Jung Soo-ji, launched a playful Instagram account documenting his quiet domestic life during the break. The account, which she later confirmed she runs herself, drew wide attention in Korea.
The announcement did not say what comes next for Jo once “Doraiver” wraps. With his last regular program ending on November 21, whether he returns to television — and in what form — remains an open question for viewers who have followed his long run as one of Korea’s most familiar variety faces.
