TV personality Jung Hyung-don has ended five years of “goose dad” life after his wife and twin daughters returned to Korea from Hawaii, opening up about why he pushed for their study abroad in the first place.

In a video titled “How We End Our Hawaii Life,” uploaded October 17 to the YouTube channel run by his wife Han Yu-ra, the family looked back on their time abroad. Han, a former broadcast writer, moved to Hawaii in 2021 with their twin daughters Yu-ju and Yu-ha to study there, while Jung shuttled between Korea and Hawaii.

Asked how it feels to come home after his “eagle life,” Jung joked, “Is this a triumphant return? Leave the gold out,” and thanked his wife for five hard years. Han gave their Hawaii life 4.2 out of 5, the daughters 4.5.

Jung then revealed that his own unfulfilled dream played a part in the decision. “I was someone who always wanted to study abroad, so the unfulfilled dream from my childhood must have surfaced,” he said, as reported by TV Report. “I wanted to be compensated through my children. In a way, it was my greed.”

The video also shows the family enjoying their return, from meeting long-missed friends to attending a concert the daughters had wished for. Han said the channel will now cover their life back in Korea. Jung married Han in 2009, and the twins were born in 2012.
