Actor Jung Woong-in’s second daughter So-yoon, who has drawn attention for her resemblance to NewJeans member Haerin, is studying for one of Korea’s toughest admissions goals: Seoul National University’s art school.
The news came out on October 12 in a video posted on Shin Dong-yup’s YouTube channel Jjanhan Hyung, titled “Memories of the Seoul Institute of the Arts class of ‘89.” Jung appeared as a guest alongside Jang Jin.
According to MyDaily’s report on the episode, Jung Ho-chul noted that the three daughters take after their mother in looks. Jung Woong-in replied that only the youngest looks like him, prompting Shin Dong-yup to joke, “If she looks like you, at least nobody will bully her at school,” drawing laughs from everyone.
The conversation then turned to second daughter So-yoon, who became a hot topic for her resemblance to NewJeans’ Haerin. Back in August, she suddenly announced that the time had come to delete her Instagram, saying she would stop social media to focus on studying and get into a good university.
Jung explained, “She cut everything off herself for studying. Her goal is to get into SNU, like Ji-hyo.” Ji-hyo refers to Shin Dong-yup’s daughter, making the exchange an especially personal moment on the show.
So-yoon is known to be aiming specifically for SNU’s College of Fine Arts. Jung married non-celebrity Lee Ji-in in 2006, and the couple has three daughters.
No official statement was available. Fans are rooting for So-yoon as she trades Instagram likes for entrance exams.
