Kim Ji-won’s new SBS drama ‘Doctor X: The Age of the White Mafia’ has stormed to No. 1 on Netflix’s global non-English TV chart just three days after release.

According to TV Report, Netflix announced its Global Top 10 weekly rankings on October 14 (covering October 5-11), placing ‘Doctor X’ at the top of the non-English TV show category. The drama racked up 9.9 million viewing hours and 4.6 million views in that period, charting in the Top 10 in 36 countries.

The record also marked a milestone for the production side. Studio Dragon, which co-produced the series, earned its 10th Netflix global No. 1 title, extending its streak of producing a global chart-topper for five consecutive years since ‘The Glory’ in 2022. Fellow producer Studio S also celebrated its fourth global No. 1 SBS miniseries of the year.

Domestically, the show is performing just as strongly. ‘Doctor X’ opened with an 11.4% nationwide rating - the highest premiere rating among miniseries aired this year - and rose to 14.9% (peaking at 17.4%) for its second episode. It also ranked No. 1 in the TV-OTT drama buzz rankings for the second week of October, with Kim Ji-won topping the performer buzz chart.

A Studio Dragon representative said the company plans to reach global K-drama viewers this year with well-made works including writer Noh Hee-kyung’s upcoming project and Kim Woo-bin’s ‘Gift.’

Episode 3 of ‘Doctor X’ airs tonight, October 16, at 9:50 p.m. KST.
