ADOR’s lawsuit against former CEO Min Hee Jin hit a new flashpoint on October 22, as the defendants’ side accused the agency of stalling the submission of documents needed to calculate damages in the suit seeking approximately 33 billion won.
According to a report by KbizoOm, the 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District Court held the sixth hearing in the case against Danielle, her family member, and Min Hee Jin on the afternoon of October 22. At the center of the dispute are the appraisal materials: ADOR says it cannot hand over complete originals because they contain trade secrets, while Danielle’s side demands the originals and questions whether the appraisal can be verified without them. The court proposed a redacted compromise, and ADOR reportedly submitted the materials on October 21.
Danielle’s legal representative protested: “The deadline was set for September 10, but the plaintiff left the matter unattended for a month,” adding that “the delay in the proceedings has gone too far.”
ADOR pushed back, citing confidentiality concerns. Its representative stated: “There was no intention to delay the process, and there still isn’t,” adding that further documents were submitted after the appraiser requested more information.
The court said it hoped to receive the appraisal results before the next hearing on November 12, and instructed both sides to finalize their positions on damage-calculation methods beforehand. The case traces back to November 28, 2024, when NewJeans’ members announced they were terminating their exclusive contracts; on October 30, 2025, the court ruled the contracts remained valid, and the ruling became final after the members did not appeal.
