My Chemical Romance is coming back to Korea for the first time in 18 years.
The American rock band will perform on November 7 at Paradise City Culture Park on Yeongjong Island in Incheon, Sports Kyunghyang reported on October 20.
The show will be a 20,000-capacity concert, and Paradise City expects it to push this year’s run of large-scale performances at the venue to its peak.
Formed in the United States in 2001, My Chemical Romance became one of the defining bands of 2000s emo rock and pop-punk. The group rose to global fame with the albums “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” (2004) and “The Black Parade” (2006), which produced enduring hits including “Welcome to the Black Parade” and “Helena.”
The band disbanded in 2013 and reunited in 2019. Their last Korean performance was in 2008, making this an 18-year return.
A Paradise City official said world-class artists across genres have been taking the venue’s stage this year, and the company aims to strengthen its position as a global performance destination through continued investment in its concert infrastructure.
With an 18-year wait behind it, the November 7 show is set to be one of the most anticipated rock concerts in Korea this year.
