NMIXX is on track for a third consecutive mega hit as the title track of their new sixth mini album ‘Strange Muse’ stormed the Melon charts upon its October 19 release.
According to a Sports Chosun report, ‘Gin Sowon’ entered Melon HOT100 at No. 3 right after its release. Within an hour, it debuted on Melon TOP100 at No. 34 — the group’s highest-ever entry on the chart, backed by what the report describes as a solid fandom and strong public anticipation.
The streak builds on a remarkable run. Last October, NMIXX’s first full album ‘Blue Valentine’ swept Melon TOP100, HOT100 and the real-time, daily, weekly and monthly charts, sold over 630,000 copies in its first week, and reached No. 7 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales and Top Current Album Sales charts.
In May, the EP ‘Heavy Serenade’ topped Melon HOT100 and the real-time chart, collected music show wins, and was named No. 3 on Billboard’s mid-year Best K-Pop Albums list, while pre-release track ‘Crescendo’ placed No. 5 on the songs list.
No official statement was available.
With ‘Gin Sowon’ holding high on domestic charts, the report concludes NMIXX’s career high is only just beginning.
