YouTuber Park We has set more than 20 videos on his channel ‘Weracle’ to private over the past month, as the fallout continues from the KTX fall-accident CCTV video he posted in August. His subscriber count has fallen from over one million to roughly 930,000.
According to a Maeil Business report on October 20, one video was made private on October 15 and two more on October 16. After deleting his explanation video about the CCTV release, Park had already set 13 videos to private within a single week. The channel’s public count has dropped from 798 to 778.
The controversy began on August 14, when his wheelchair wheel caught on the foot of a social service worker standing on the boarding ramp as he exited a KTX train, causing him to fall. Park later published the CCTV footage to raise awareness of safety issues.
The move drew heavy criticism: the worker had already apologized at the scene, and critics said releasing the footage to a million subscribers could subject the individual to excessive blame. Park deleted the video and apologized, saying, “I failed to consider the position of the staff member who did their best to help me at the scene and apologized politely.”
Park voluntarily resigned as a promotional ambassador in August, while older videos have been dug up and re-examined online. He has issued no new statement on the latest deletions.
Park became paralyzed in a 2014 fall and built his channel documenting his rehabilitation. He married former Secret member Song Ji-eun in 2024. With no word on resuming activity, the quiet removals keep the controversy in the spotlight.
