THE BOYZ's Juyeon Lands First Drama Lead Role in tvN's 'Juhan Iguk Daesagwan' cover

THE BOYZ’s Juyeon is set to make his acting debut with a lead role in tvN’s upcoming fantasy romantic comedy “Juhan Iguk Daesagwan” (주한이국대사관).

According to My Daily’s exclusive report on October 16, the idol will take on the role of Bu Gyeong-jun, a counselor at the embassy at the center of the story — marking not just his first drama appearance, but his first lead role.

Bu Gyeong-jun is described as a gadget enthusiast who wears nearly identical jeans and checkered shirts every day, carries his electronics around in a backpack, and rarely shows emotion, appearing so quiet at times that he feels almost inanimate.

Juyeon (Lee Ju-yeon) debuted with THE BOYZ in 2017 and was active as the group’s main dancer. In August, he signed an exclusive contract with Ace Factory, the agency home to Lee Joon-hyuk, Jang Seung-jo, Choi Dae-hoon, and Yeom Hye-ran, signaling a full pivot into acting. The new role arrives just two months after that move.

The series is a fantasy rom-com about a human rookie diplomat accidentally assigned to a secret embassy that manages monsters living in Korea, and its ambassador, who is secretly a dragon. Lee Junho and Hong Hwa-yeon star as the central leads.

No official statement was available. The drama is slated for tvN.
