NMIXX has unveiled the original highlight medley for its sixth mini album “Strange Muse,” offering fans their first listen to full audio clips of all six tracks ahead of the October 19 release.
According to TV Daily, the group released the medley on October 15, days after sharing an a cappella version through its official social channels that previewed the new songs using only the six members’ voices.
The EP is led by the title track “긴 소원 (Birthday Wish)” and also includes “Kerosene” and “RudE TaLK.” The medley additionally revealed the group’s first unit songs since debut: “너는 달 (Sing to the Moon)” by LILY and Haewon, “핫 앤 언바더드 (Hot ‘n Unbothered)” by Sullyoon and BAE, and “휠 (WHIP)” by Jiwoo and Kyujin. All six members took part in writing the lyrics for their respective unit tracks, while youngest member Kyujin also contributed to composition.
Speaking about the unit songs, LILY and Haewon said ballad lovers should give their track a listen, noting they focused on vocal tone and emotional delivery. Sullyoon and BAE said they wanted to show a cooler, more mature charm along with their chemistry as a duo. Jiwoo and Kyujin said the track highlights their powerful voices and energy, adding they hope to try new unit combinations in the future.
“Strange Muse” drops October 19 at 6 p.m. KST alongside the “Birthday Wish” music video, as NMIXX aims to extend the hit streak that began with “Blue Valentine” and continued with “Heavy Serenade.”
