TVING has locked November 23 as the premiere date for its original crime thriller ‘Daeri Suneung,’ releasing a teaser poster on Thursday for the Bae Hyun-sung-led series.

According to MBC Entertainment, the poster captures Nam Jae-yeop (Bae Hyun-sung) and Kang Geon-tae (Cha Kang-yoon) trading grim stares, an OMR answer sheet laid across their faces with the tagline “That day, we crossed the line” – hinting at the irreversible choice awaiting them.

Directed by Park So-yeon (“Duty After School,” “Pyramid Game”) and written by Choi Soo, the Studio Dragon-produced series follows three youths whose desires and secrets collide on the day of the CSAT, spiraling into crime they cannot take back. Bae Hyun-sung plays Nam Jae-yeop, a wealthy model student whose perfect life starts to crack; Cha Kang-yoon plays Kang Geon-tae, a low-income scholarship student at elite Jungkyung High who accepts an illicit offer to escape poverty. Park Yun-ho plays Joo Hee-dong, Geon-tae’s only confidant, while Uhm Ji-won, Park Hyuk-kwon and Baek Ji-won round out the cast.

The production team said, “‘Daeri Suneung’ takes the familiar subjects of the CSAT and college entrance exams that everyone relates to and adds suspense, delivering fun that sets it apart from existing school dramas,” adding that the three youths’ dangerous game – each holding the others’ weaknesses – will unfold in gripping fashion.

‘Daeri Suneung’ streams on TVING starting November 23 as the platform’s next original series.
