TWICE member Dahyun has been confirmed as the lead of the upcoming high-teen romance film ‘Gureumi Gureumi’, continuing her rapid rise as an actress.

According to an October 22 report by MBC Entertainment, Dahyun will play Gureum, a bright and confident high school art student known for her flashy pink wheelchair. Having used a wheelchair her whole life, Gureum carries a sunny, high-self-esteem charm. Her life shifts when a trip to the school swimming pool makes her the volunteer-activity mentor of Junsan, a promising swimmer kicked off the team after fighting a senior — and their tender first love begins.

The film follows the two opposites as they become something special to each other and slowly expand each other’s worlds. Rising star Cha Woo-min was cast as Junsan. Choi Seon-min, a co-director of the JTBC dramas ‘King the Land’, ‘Miss Night and Day’, and ‘Waiting for Kyungdo’, directs, with Shin Hyeon-ji writing the screenplay. Take One Company provides the film, with Take One Studio and SLL producing.

Dahyun launched her acting career in 2025 with the film ‘The Girl We Loved Back Then’, followed by ‘Sprint’ and the JTBC drama ‘Love Me’, which wrapped in January 2026. She won the Rising Star award at the 2026 Global OTT Awards in June for ‘Love Me’, cementing her standing as an actress.

No official statement was available at the time of reporting. Filming for ‘Gureumi Gureumi’ is now underway, with a 2027 release in sight.
