IVE is officially taking “Looks Can Kill” to the music show stage. The group will perform the song live for the first time on Mnet’s M Countdown on October 22, launching full-scale broadcast promotions ahead of the album release.
According to a report from MHN Sports via Naver Entertainment News, the October 22 M Countdown appearance marks the debut live stage of the group’s latest title track, with additional music show performances to follow.
“Looks Can Kill” is an electronic dance pop track built on a heavy, rough bass line, paired with dynamic drums and rich electronic sounds. The lyrics were written by Seo Ji-eum, the lyricist behind IVE’s debut track “ELEVEN” as well as hits like “LOVE DIVE” and “After LIKE.”
For the song, IVE is carrying over its signature “girl fantasy” character while embodying a new “girl hero” persona, a concept the group has been teasing through concept photos and the “Looks Can Kill” music video. The stage performance leans on an overwhelming aura: a sharp, precise opening formation, the chorus’s finger-gun choreography, sweeping arm moves, and an explosive high-note section from An Yujin in the latter half of the song that pushes the energy to its peak.
No official statement was available. IVE’s mini album of the same name, “Looks Can Kill,” is scheduled for release on October 26.
