YG Entertainment’s executive producer Yang Hyun-suk has unveiled the company’s rookie and comeback plans for the first time in about five months.
On October 14, Yang posted a detailed announcement on YG’s official blog, opening with a greeting to fans. The biggest news was on the new-artist front: YG is currently preparing the debuts of a five-member boy group and a four-member girl group.
According to Yang, both groups will finish recording the demo songs they have prepared so far by the end of the year. Once the title tracks are decided, specific debut schedules will follow, and he promised to return with more news through a YG ANNOUNCEMENT video at the end of the year.
On existing artists, BABYMONSTER will release the digital single “DESERVE” on October 23. Yang described it as a slow song with stronger energy than anything the group has released so far, and said their next album will arrive early next year.
TREASURE will make a comeback on November 2 with the hip-hop-flavored digital single “SHOCK.” Yang called it the start of TREASURE’s full-scale second act, which will continue into 2027.
The announcement comes as fellow industry veteran Lee Soo-man draws attention for his new A20 rookie groups, and all eyes are now on what kind of new artists YG will present next.
