BLACKPINKâs Jennie is fronting Monclerâs new mountain-explorer-themed Re/Icons campaign, the luxury outerwear house has revealed. The singer appears as one of the faces of the campaign alongside legends Grace Jones and Cher.
The campaign revives Monclerâs archival styles â the Karakorum, Verone, Himalaya, and Tibb â some dating back to the 1950s. It takes creative direction from vintage photographs of alpine pioneer and early Moncler collaborator Lionel Terray, under the tagline âPioneers in Moncler with Extraordinary Dreams.â
In the campaign images, Jennie wears the Karakorum jacket in black, first created for the Italian explorers who ascended K2, the worldâs second-highest mountain, in 1952, along with the Tibb vest in caramel, originally designed in the 1980s as functional, oversized workwear. Both pieces return with modern updates such as glossy finishes and reversible features.
The collection debuting in the campaign also includes silk-twill foulards, titanium and leather sunglasses inspired by vintage goggles, windbreakers, T-shirts, pants, and skirts.
Ahead of the launch, Jennie spoke to ELLE about her evolving personal style. âMy style changes a lot depending on my mood,â she said. âSome days I want to be very feminine, other days I want something effortless and simple. I donât really like putting myself into one category.â
Her fashion advice for fans: âWear what makes you feel most like yourself! Trends are fun to play with, but I think personal style becomes much more interesting when you stop worrying about whether something is ârightâ and just enjoy it.â
The campaign images are rolling out now; no official statement from Jennieâs agency was included in the ELLE feature.
