BIG Naughty is getting married. The 23-year-old rapper told fans in a chat room on October 14 that he has decided to spend his life with the woman behind his ‘Vancouver’ songs — a surprise announcement delivered while he is serving his military duty.
According to 엑스포츠뉴스 (Xports News), the singer appeared in his fan chat after a long absence, opening with a greeting about the cold weather before getting to the point: “There is one more big issue this year.”
The bride is the same woman he has previously said he crushed on for more than a decade — a love he has openly woven into his music, including ‘Vancouver’ and its sequel ‘Vancouver 2.’ His reputation as a hopeless romantic has long been a signature part of his public image.
“You may already know, or it might be sudden, but I’ve decided to spend my life with the person who appeared in ‘Vancouver,’ ‘Vancouver 2’ and many other songs,” he wrote to fans. He thanked them for letting those songs exist in the world and promised to “come back as a more mature young man.”
Born in 2003, BIG Naughty first rose to fame through Mnet’s Show Me The Money 8 in 2019. He began alternative military service as a social service agent on September 10.
He closed the message by teasing “a small gift” for fans later that night, suggesting new music may be on the way.
