Jang Sung-kyu Praises A2O LITE's 13-Year-Old Aijing, Calls Her Debut as Shocking as BoA's cover

Broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu has showered praise on A2O LITE member Aijing’s debut stage, saying the 13-year-old’s debut hit him as hard as BoA’s first appearance did.

Jang shared a screenshot of Aijing’s music show debut stage on his SNS on October 16, writing, “What a shocking debut. It feels similar to the shock I got when BoA first appeared,” according to MyDaily.

He added that even the young idol’s name is cute, calling her “the girl Aijing,” and expressed surprise that the 2013-born singer is only one year older than his own son Hajun.

Jang also gave a shout-out to the rookie group’s chart feat, writing, “Number one on Melon one day after debut! A legend has begun,” before joking that the song’s lyrics kept sounding like “divorce and unmarried” to his ears, for which he apologized.

A2O LITE is the nine-member girl group former SM Entertainment executive producer Lee Soo-man introduced to the Korean music scene after roughly three years. They officially debuted on October 12 with “NEON” and reached No. 1 on the Melon TOP100 chart about 29 hours after release.

The group has drawn intense attention since its debut, and Jang’s post added to the growing buzz around the young rookie.
