SBS’s “Doctor X” just shattered its own ratings ceiling.

According to Nielsen Korea figures reported by NewsEn on October 18, episode 4 of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama “Doctor X,” which aired on October 17, averaged 18.5 percent nationwide. That is a 3.4-point jump from episode 3’s 15.1 percent and a new series high.

The show has set a new personal best every single episode since its premiere: 11.4 percent for episode 1 on October 9, 14.9 percent for episode 2, 15.1 percent for episode 3, and now 18.5 percent for episode 4.

NewsEn compared the trajectory to SBS’s last Friday-Saturday smash, “Agent Kim Reactivated,” the 10-episode series that closed its run in July with a 23 percent finale. That show climbed 9.5 to 15.7 to 18.8 to 21.6 percent across its first four episodes. “Doctor X” missed breaking 20 percent by episode 4, but with its momentum it is now closing in on the benchmark.

The drama also topped the weekend charts overall. KBS 2TV’s weekend drama followed with 14.3 percent, while KBS 2TV’s weekend miniseries managed 1.8 percent, JTBC’s weekend drama 1.4 percent, and the Channel A-Disney+ co-production just 0.16 percent.

No production statement accompanied the ratings report. With four straight record-breaking episodes, attention now turns to whether “Doctor X” can clear 20 percent next week.
